Call for Papers
Welcome to AIC 2024!
The Brazilian Color Association (Associação ProCor do Brasil) is hosting AIC2024 Midterm Meeting, in partnership with ESPM University, which will be the conference venue. The Conference Theme is Color Design, Communication and Marketing. The conference dates are 16 – 19 September 2024, when it is Spring in São Paulo, Brazil. The conference chairs are Paula Csillag (ESPM and ProCor), Vien Cheung (Univ Leeds), Carol Bustos (ESPM), and Ricardo Zagallo Camargo (ESPM).

Selected papers presented in the conference will be invited to produce extended versions for a special issue for the AIC2024 in Color Research and Application, Color Culture and Science Journal, or Journal of the International Colour Association (JAIC).
The three best poster presentations will be awarded by The Colour Group (GB)’s Robert W. G. Hunt International Poster Awards. Best student papers will be awarded with the AIC’s Student Paper Awards. A total of six awards will be given to the winning paper, the first runner-up, the second runner-up and three honorable mentions.
On behalf of the International Color Association, the AIC2024 Organizing and Scientific Committees, invite you to participate and submit abstracts in English, related to the conference theme, Color Design, Communication and Marketing. The theme covers different aspects and can fit into the following conference topics:
- Color in Branding and Marketing
- Color and Consumer Behavior
- Color in Design and Visual Communication (all forms of Design)
- Color and Consumer Products
- Industrial color application (Cosmetics, paints, textiles among others)
- Color in Interior Design and Architecture
- Color Semantics and Semiotics
- Color and Psychology
- Color and Physiology
- Color and Physics
- Colorimetry and Color Control and Color Order Systems
- Color Education
- Color in Art, Culture, and History
All the AIC2024 abstract submissions follow a single blind reviewing procedure. The conference Program Chairs preliminarily evaluate the abstracts and then assign each abstract to be reviewed by at least two referees, that are in the Scientific Committee, composed of 62 researchers and academics, that may be seen at the Organization page. These reviewers are from the countries: Japan, France, Italy, Brazil, UK, Sweden, Australia, Argentina, Chile, Spain, Canada, Portugal, Thailand, Norway, China, Hungary, Germany, India, Switzerland, and Russia. The Program Chairs, who take into account the referees’ comments and recommendations, make the final decision as to whether the abstract is accepted.
Full papers published in the AIC2024 conference proceedings will provide immediate open access, no more than six months post-conference, to its content on the principle that making research freely available to the public supports a greater global exchange of knowledge.
The AIC 2024 conference proceedings will be part of the AIC proceedings series with ISSN: 2617-2410 and eISSN: 2617-2429.
At least one author from each accepted final paper must register for the conference, for that paper to be presented at the conference and included in the Conference Proceedings.

Guidelines
All abstracts and papers must be in English, the conference official language. Please mark your diary. There will be no submission extensions.
GUIDELINES FOR POSTERS
AIC2024 offers poster printing and display service for all the poster presentations. Please follow the below steps to prepare and submit your poster file:
1) Prepare your poster using only the AIC2024 poster template (below). Do not change the size or orientation or structure of the poster.
2) Save/export your ppt file to PDF format. The PDF file size must be less than 100MB.
3) Submit your poster PDF to e-mail: t.l.v.cheung@leeds.ac.uk by the deadline 5 SEPTEMBER. If your file is too big for e-mail, use https://wetransfer.com specifying the receiver’s mail e-mail t.l.v.cheung@leeds.ac.uk.
Please check carefully your poster PDF upload only the final version. No replacement or changes are accepted after submission.
